Slow Kayak is an immersive film project shot from a sea kayak. There is no presenter, no commentary and no added music.
The camera remains centred on the journey while the kayak creates a slow, continuous movement through the landscape. Weather, light, swell, rock and navigation determine the film.
Slow Kayak est un projet de films immersifs tournés depuis un kayak de mer. Il n’y a ni présentateur, ni commentaire, ni musique ajoutée.
La caméra reste centrée sur la navigation tandis que le kayak produit un mouvement lent et continu dans le paysage. La météo, la lumière, la houle, la roche et la navigation déterminent le film.

Sound is recorded independently with two Oktava microphones in an ORTF stereo configuration, protected by Rycote windshields for outdoor recording.

After years of filming around the world, the project returns to a simple idea: a fixed point of view, a subtle moving platform, and enough time for a place to reveal itself.
